Murphy obtained her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the Bar in British Columbia and Ontario in 2007. After completing her articles with a national union in Toronto, Murphy joined Fiorillo Glavin Gordon in October 2007. Born in British Columbia but raised in Ontario, Murphy is delighted to be back in Vancouver.
Murphy is committed to representing workers and her main areas of practice include labour law, human rights law and administrative law. During law school, she worked for two legal aid clinics, representing clients on their employment and human rights law issues. Upon graduation, Murphy was awarded the 2006 Legal Aid Ontario prize for outstanding and continuous contribution to legal aid, clinical practice, and public interest law.
Murphy’s first article, a comment on the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal decision Moore v. British Columbia (Ministry of Education) and School District No. 44, 2005 BCHRT 580, was published in the Education & the Law Journal in July 2007.
