Christopher Misura received his Bachelor of Laws degree from Dalhousie Law School in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2007, where he was awarded the Alistair Fraser Scholarship and the Sarah MacWalker MacKenzie Clinical Law Award for outstanding contribution to the Dalhousie Legal Aid Society goals of education, service, community development and law reform. He joined Fiorillo Glavin Gordon as an Articled Student in August of 2007. Chris was called to the Bar in May of 2008 and remained with the firm as an Associate.

Originally from Fernie, British Columbia, Christopher is deeply committed to workers’ and human rights. He has trade unionism in his blood, his grandfather (his Dad’s dad) worked lifelong as an underground miner in the Coal Creek and the Balmer North mines, coming off shift just before the fatal blast in 1967, and his Nonno (his Mom’s dad) lifelong on the green chain and as a lumber grader for what is now the Tembec mill in Elko.

Over the last two years, Christopher has spent significant time doing poverty law, and working towards social justice, with Pivot Legal Society on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. In 2006, he co-lead authored the widely cited report “Cracks in the Foundation: Solving the Housing Crisis in Canada’s Poorest Neighbourhood:” a comprehensive study of housing issues facing low-income residents in Vancouver. More recently, he co-wrote the article, “Right to Remain Silent: is there such a right?” with firm partner, Gina Fiorillo, for the 2008 Insight Information Western Canada Labour Relations Conference.
