Carol received her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Victoria in 2004. After articling at a law firm in Toronto, Carol was called to the Ontario Bar in 2005. She then returned to British Columbia, where she was called to the BC Bar and worked as Crown Counsel for the Province of British Columbia, conducting trials, bail hearings and sentencing hearings.
Carol then worked as a Research Lawyer and Partner at a small law firm, where she taught seminars in legal research and writing, and wrote and edited various legal documents, including memoranda of law, court and tribunal submissions, contracts, articles and conference papers. She joined Fiorillo Glavin Gordon in the summer of 2007.
Carol has conducted several seminars with various clients, and she is also a member of faculty at Capilano University in the Labour Studies Program, teaching courses in Legal Research, Legal Writing and Labour Law.
Carol has a strong interest in human rights, privacy and constitutional law. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association’s labour, human rights, constitutional and research sections, as well as a member of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers. She also has an interest in creative writing and has published several poems in literary journals and in an anthology.
